New CEO for PACE Enterprises

Morgantown WV — Following a national search, conducted in anticipation of the retirement of the current CEO, Board Chair Doreen Seamon announced a unanimous decision. “The Board of Directors of PACE Enterprises, Inc. (PACE)  is pleased to have selected Reginald (“Reggie”) Jones as the next CEO of PACE. Also Chair of the Selection Committee, Doreen oversaw the comprehensive search conducted by the Boland Group, a national search firm specializing in CEO searches for mission driven community nonprofits.

Alluding to his previous role, Doreen observed “Reggie was the first professional Executive Director of Recovery Point, a faith-based peer-recovery nonprofit. By introducing Behavioral Health services, including Medication Assisted Treatment, Reggie dramatically grew the number of clients served. Reggie also has a strong fundraising track record, a result of forming and cultivating long term relationships at all levels in the community, government and private sectors.

Outgoing CEO Greg Morris endorsed the Board’s unanimous selection: “Reggie has dedicated his career to identifying and creating jobs and training opportunities for historically marginalized populations in West Virginia. As CEO of Recovery Point from 2019 to 2024, Reggie dramatically grew this nonprofit that serves clients with substance use disorder. Reggie expanded Recovery Point’s offerings by providing holistic services similar to those offered and envisioned by PACE: 1) supported employment opportunities, 2) supported housing and 3) transportation to and from work. In another parallel with PACE’s own expansion, Reggie also launched a licensed behavioral healthcare clinic to better serve clients.”

Ann Boland, who led the search, added: “This is a coming home for Reggie who earned both his Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from WV University in Morgantown. Coupled with his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Newburgh Theological Seminary,

One year later: “We really did a great job in choosing Reggie as CEO. The team is happy with his leadership. He has faced a lot of challenges this past year and has really done well. I think it has been even more challenging than he or any of us anticipated because… of the government shut down, but we’ve been building the pooled trust, and it now has over $1M in investments!

Ann explained, “Reggie’s hire was particularly notable because he was the unknown, and we had two internal candidates. Even though some on the Selection Committee resisted having dinner with him the night before, it was important to ensure a level playing field. And it proved to be the right thing to do. Although the initial video interview wasn’t strong enough for Reggie to be chosen, Selection Committee members told me that meeting Reggie the night before his in person presentation ‘made all the difference… we might not have chosen him otherwise.'”
