For a $10M provider of Shared Services to a statewide association of Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) and Certified Community Behavioral Healthcare Centers (CCBHCs), a CEO to identify and fully leverage the untapped potential of the existing capabilities while identifying ways to expand capacity. Successful candidate identified $1M in immediate revenue generating opportunities in the first year, and is on track to reach $30M+ revenues. Search conducted during pandemic.

About the Organization: Our client improves the behavioral health of the State’s citizens by providing value-added services and support to its members and partners, including 24×7 clinical call center access to licensed mental health professionals and assessment services, IT Managed Services, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) administration, state-wide crisis intervention services administration and training, and a variety of healthcare compliance services, including substance abuse screening services. Our client strives to be the trusted partner for the delivery of public / private integrated solutions in the Midwest and beyond, serving 23+ Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) across the State, as well as local, state, and national for-profit and non-profit customers. Profits from our client’s operations fund the State’s CMHC Association, which represents their collective interests, by public policy and funding advocacy.

About the Position: The incumbent CEO is resigning in order to assume a full-time ministry leadership role in the Church he’s been serving for many years. The Board of Directors (“The Board”) credits the incumbent CEO for the health of the organization, which is financially and operationally sound, and well positioned to grow in both new and existing areas of operations. The Board has retained the Boland Group to conduct a search for the next CEO to help realize the full potential of organization: to bring on board new customers who can benefit from the organization’s services and capabilities, and to help existing customers realize additional benefits from using a broader range of services.

About the Opportunity: Healthsource Integrated Solutions (HIS) is a 501c4 non-profit which delivers customized shared services to Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) across the State of Kansas. This is a unique opportunity for a high energy entrepreneur with a heart for those who suffer from afflictions that defy traditional diagnosis and treatment approaches.

The next CEO of HIS will spearhead a hybrid organization — a non profit with a for-profit subsidiary — that pioneered the delivery of unique shared services to meet the needs of individual CMHCs.  By offering 24x7x365 call center support — assessment and screening by master’s level licensed clinicians. and administration & tracking of crisis interventions — HIS makes it possible for small or remote CMHCs to meet the healthcare needs of underserved rural communities. CMHC executives credit HIS’ after hours and weekend coverage to enabling them to attract and retain the best therapists, even in remote locations.   HIS offers enterprising leaders a “best of both worlds” situation: the profits from HIS’ for-profit drug testing, EAP and eScreening subsidiary are used to fund innovative solutions for the non-profit Centers, e.g. HIPAA compliant tele-health crisis screening and assessment services for the CMHC member organizations.  The successful candidate for CEO will have an unprecedented opportunity to shape the future of the organization, bringing a fresh perspective to developing an innovative strategic plan that will tap into the latent potential of the organization’s capabilities, leverage the collective purchasing power of its members and apply creative marketing initiatives to power the organization’s growth.
