Joe Boland, Co-founder of the Boland Group is COO & CFO of our National Mission Driven Search practice 
Joe brings over 30 years of mission driven organizational experience to his work with the Boland Group’s (TBG’s) clients, including leadership of two faith-based nonprofits, a small business owner, a general practice attorney, sales executive for a Fortune 100 company and service as a captain in the United States Marine Corps.
Joe co-founded TBG, a retained executive search firm in continuous operations since its incorporation in 2000.
Most recently, Joe served as general manager for two faith-based non profits over the last thirteen years. His responsibilities in serving over 1000 families annually included oversight of operations, finance, technology, human resources, vendor management, contract negotiation, risk management, compliance and facilities.
Having managed teams from three to one hundred members, Joe’s customer service orientation and proven leadership and people management skills uniquely benefit each individual and organization with whom he interacts. Prior to his transition to the nonprofit sector, Joe was a successful sales executive with IBM and general practice attorney.
Joe’s relevant search experience includes multiple industries: nonprofit, financial services, healthcare, mission critical facilities infrastructure, high tech. Functional expertise includes C-suite and VP Level searches for client-facing positions (for profit) and CEOs and Executive Directors for mission driven nonprofits. Joe’s exceptional research skills enable him to unearth outstanding prospective candidates others do not find. His contract development and negotiation experience, coupled with insightful empathy and unusual common sense is valued by candidates and clients alike.
An engineering graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Joe served as a United States Marine Corps (USMC) helicopter pilot and in various leadership capacities as a squadron officer, including oversight of over 100 Marines. He earned his J.D. from Stetson University’s College of Law, and is a member of the Bar in both Florida and Maryland.
