About the Opportunity: 

Founded as a result of the Community Mental Health Center Act, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which has been serving the community since 1967. Today, we offer 24 hour crisis services, and other services through 29 programs in eight locations, including community outreach, area hospitals, law enforcement, and individuals. Our 300+ staff of doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, technicians, case managers, and peer support specialists enables us to serve an average of 7,000 residents annually, and to partner with 75+ other agencies and companies to coordinate services.

We are involved in evidence-based practice research, providing valuable outcomes information for nearby universities, with a focus on developing best practices for Supported Employment, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Illness Management & Recovery, Supported Education, and Family Psycho-education.

Our Community understands that mental health is essential to overall health, and that treatment benefits the individual, family, public health, safety, and community resources. Our vision is to keep behavioral health care consumer driven, to close the gap on mental health needs and services offered, and provide early screening for mental health and substance abuse. We use evidence-based practices and the latest technology to support the services we deliver.  We are committed to being the provider of choice for mental wellness and recovery services for the people of our community.  Due to the retirement of our previous CEO, we are looking for a visionary leader to take our organization to the next level.

Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate for this key role will have a proven track record of performing all or most of the following responsibilities.

  • Taking the lead in identifying and procuring alternative sources of revenues. You will maintain
  • Fostering a culturally competent and progressive organizational climate that attracts, maintains and motivates top notch professionals and volunteers.
  • Ensure highest and best use of our resources by cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with all of our constituencies, including the Board of Directors, staff, clients, donors, health and human service providers, educational institutions, business and industry, governmental agencies, partner organizations and the public-at-large.
Qualifications and Experience:

In addition to a proven track record of performing all or most of the responsibilities above, the successful candidate must meet the following requirements.

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a clinical specialty.
  • Advanced degree in related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a management position of similar scope involving delivery of mental health services. Relevant graduate level education may substitute for the required experience.
  • Prior successful experience at the executive level for organizations of 100+ employees is preferred.
  • Exemplary leadership skills, including a track record of inspiring successful collaboration in attainment of complex goals.
  • Exceptional relationship skills with diverse publics, including governing Boards, staff, clients, governmental agencies, health and human services providers, educational institutions and the general public.
  • Experienced at developing cooperative and collaborative working relationships with multiple local to national, public and private organizations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the mental health and health care industries and the dynamics of the current health service marketplace.
  • Ability to prepare and present complex written and oral reports.
  • A management orientation that is information and value based, promoting integrity, honesty, openness, self-scrutiny and a respect for diversity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the areas of:
    • business, financial, organizational, information technology, and, human resource development and management.
