    • CEO of CEOs, to whom the Executive Directors in the Southern region of the United States (Atlanta, Jacksonville, Louisville, Memphis, Upstate SC, Charlotte, Washington DC, Hampton roads and Virginia) report. Preference for a diversity candidate with affordable housing finance experience.
    • The successful candidate was a decorated veteran of the military and intelligence communities, and the youngest Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Community Planning and Development in the history of HUD. Successful candidate stepped off the fast track of a meteoric career path within HUD to “be on the ground where the community development work is being done“. Hailed by the current CEO as his “heir apparent” (i.e. promising successor) the successful candidate was the first African American to hold a position at this level of the organization.
